Impact Stories

Real stories of hope, resilience, and transformation from the communities we serve across Uganda.

Voices of Change

Every story represents a life touched, a community strengthened, and a future transformed. Here are some of the journeys we are privileged to be part of.

Behind every statistic is a human story – a farmer who now harvests enough to feed her family, a child who can study under a solar light, a woman who runs her own business, a community that came together to build a borehole. These stories remind us why we do what we do, and they inspire us to keep pushing forward. We invite you to read, reflect, and be part of the change.

Grace in her vegetable garden

From a Small Garden to a Thriving Business

Grace Akello, a mother of three, used to struggle to put food on the table. With support from our Sustainable Agriculture program, she received training in climate-smart farming, access to quality seeds, and a small irrigation system. Today, her vegetable garden not only feeds her family but also provides surplus for sale at the local market.

I can now pay school fees for my children and even save money. Farming is no longer just survival – it's a business.
Sarah studying under solar light

A Light That Changed Everything

Sarah Adong, a 14-year-old student, used to study by candlelight, struggling to see her books. When our renewable energy program installed a solar home system in her village, everything changed. Now she can study safely at night, and her grades have improved significantly.

I want to become a doctor. With this light, I believe I can achieve my dream.
Women's cooperative packaging products

Together We Rise – A Women's Cooperative Success

Thirty women in Wakiso came together to form a cooperative, with support from our Economic Empowerment program. They received training in food processing, business management, and access to a shared workspace. Today, they produce and sell peanut butter, fruit juices, and dried vegetables – earning a stable income and supporting their families.

We used to depend on our husbands for everything. Now we are independent and proud.
Community celebrating clean water access

Clean Water, Fresh Hope

For years, the community of Kigumba Town relied on a contaminated stream for drinking water. Waterborne diseases were common, and children often missed school. Our team worked with the community to install a solar-powered borehole, providing clean, safe water to over 500 households.

Our children no longer get sick from drinking water. This is a miracle.
Youth in tech training

From Unemployed to Digital Entrepreneur

James Okello, a 24-year-old from Gulu, was unemployed and struggling to find work. Through our Digital Skills program, he learned web development, graphic design, and digital marketing. Today, he runs his own freelancing business, serving clients from around the world.

I never imagined I could earn a living using a computer. Now I am earning and training other youth.
